Waypoint Market
CAPACITY SIDE
Powered byWaypoint Specialty
For carriers, syndicates, reinsurers, ILS and MGAs

Deploy capacity smarter. Pick your fits worldwide.

Waypoint goes through the books of agencies and MGAs, finds the niches inside them and builds each one into an exclusive program. Waypoint Market matches your capacity to those programs as they form, so you decide where to grow, where to hold and where to pull back, one profile at a time.

Built for a dynamic market

Capacity better deployed, for better results

Fixed appetite and open-market submissions leave good capacity idle and the wrong risks on your desk. Here is what changes when niches come from a real book of business, already built into programs and matched to your appetite by our brokers.

01Deploy smarterOur brokers bring you niches that fit your appetite, with states, values, program size and paper laid out before you spend underwriting time.
02Pick your fitsReview anonymized niches and answer Interested or Pass in one click. Nothing comes to your paper that you didn't choose.
03Access more opportunityWe review the books of agencies, MGAs and wholesalers across the US, and they bring us their niches to build. You see exclusive programs, not risks shopped across the market.
04Scale up or pull backKeep a profile for each line, product or syndicate. Widen one when you want growth, pause it when you're full, resume when you're ready.
05Drive better outcomesPrograms come with Waypoint's underwriting discipline, loss control training built around the niche's loss drivers, and technology that keeps the data current.
06One front door, worldwidePrimary, excess, reinsurance, sidecar and ILS capacity meet the same niche flow, so you can lead, follow or take a layer alongside other markets.

Test-drive your appetite

Set a rough appetite and see the kind of niches our brokers would bring you. Nothing you pick here is saved or sent.

We'll fill your first capacity profile with what you picked here.

Samples are illustrative, not live submissions. In your portal, our brokers review every niche before it reaches you.

What reaches your desk

Shaped and vetted before you see it

You don't get raw submissions. Each niche passes through the platform and our program brokers first, and Waypoint stays in the middle after it's placed.

  1. 01Found in the bookWe go through an agency or MGA book with them, or they bring us a niche with premium, states, values and experience.
  2. 02BuiltWaypoint builds the niche into a program, with a structure, an underwriter's read and the gaps to close.
  3. 03VettedOur brokers work with the submitter to close gaps and decide when it's ready for markets.
  4. 04MatchedOur brokers bring the anonymized niche to the capacity providers whose appetite fits it. You answer Interested or Pass.
  5. 05NDA and full dataWhen both sides agree, an NDA is signed and the identity, loss runs and values are shared.
The process you trust, just faster. Waypoint Market doesn't replace how placements work. We still go through the book, build the program and take it to market, and every niche still goes with the full package underwriters expect: schedule of values, loss history, underwriting guidelines, claims plan, business plan, wording and the team behind it. What changes is how quickly and how well the right niche meets the right capacity, so the work you already do goes further and drives better results.
After placement, Waypoint handles the back end and the oversight. We grant underwriting authority to program partners and run bordereaux, premium tracking, OFAC and other compliance, plus the training and technology that keep each program performing. Waypoint oversees every program and holds it to a high standard of underwriting excellence. Our platform helps risks perform better, but it never replaces people: Waypoint Specialty licensed brokers and underwriters stay in the details from the first look through every renewal.
Questions capacity providers ask

How it works for you

Who is behind Waypoint Market?

Waypoint Specialty, a team of experienced specialty program brokers. Our brokers build, structure and place niche property programs, and they are the people you talk to about every match. Waypoint Market is the tool we built to bring those niches to you faster, with better information up front.

Does this replace the normal placement process?

No. Underwriting, the submission package, NDAs and your own approvals work the way they always have, and you get everything you need to decide. We just pair you with the right niches faster, with better information up front.

Does clicking Interested commit my capacity?

No. It tells our brokers you want to talk, with an optional note on line size, structure or timing. Terms come later, through normal underwriting.

How do I hear about new niches?

They appear on your partner page as our team releases them, matched to each of your profiles. Approved partners also get one email on Tuesdays, only in weeks with new niches, best fit first, with ranges instead of figures and no names. You can turn that email off in your account settings.

Who sees my appetite?

Only the Waypoint team. Submitters never see partner profiles, and other firms never see yours. Colleagues you invite to your own firm's team can see each other's submitted profiles.

Do I need to sign an NDA?

No. A mutual NDA with Waypoint Specialty is available at any time and never required to use the platform. Some firms sign before they share anything with us, some sign later, and some never need one. If someone else at your firm signs agreements, send it to them from your capacity portal in one step and it covers you both.

When do I learn who the submitter is?

Once both sides agree to move forward and an NDA is in place. Until then, every niche is anonymized.

Can I have more than one appetite?

Yes. Add a capacity profile for each line, product or syndicate. Each one gets its own matches and can be paused, resumed or withdrawn on its own.

Can my colleagues join, for example our treaty or binder teams?

Yes. Most firms split capacity by line: open market property with one team, treaty with another, facilities or binders with a third. On the Capacity profiles tab, use Bring in the rest of your team to invite a colleague with the same company email domain and add what they look after. They get an email link that works for 30 days, register with their own login and join your firm's team. Each person keeps their own profiles current, and everyone on the team can see each other's submitted profiles.

What if my appetite changes mid-year?

Update a profile any time, or pause it to stop new niches while you keep the ones you already have. We also check in every 90 days so your appetite stays current.

What does it take to join?

Register with your company email, add your first profile in about five minutes, then meet our team. Matches open once a profile is approved.

How do I reach your team?

Our emails come from an address that does not receive replies, so use the contact form. Clicking Interested on a niche also reaches our brokers directly.

The property market isn't static. Your capacity shouldn't be either.

Built by a team with nearly twenty years in specialty property that has taken a niche program book from $5 million to over $200 million in premium.
